Mixing Prints

Rainy weather makes me want to cover with a scarf to prevent damage to the style of my wigs. Since we’ve had so much rain lately I’ve even taken to always keeping a scarf tied around my purse, which comes in handy not only in the rain but also when I want to slip my shietal off after work, having a spare tichel close at hand is something I always try to do. With all these different scarves I’ve been enjoying practicing mixing prints with the basic rule: keep it in the same color scheme. How do you think I did?

Happy Israel Independence Day!

Today I wore Blue & White in honor of the State of Israel’s 64th birthday.

This young country with a rich history, which I called home for the 2 years after I graduated high school, is one of the most beautiful places, with some of the most beautiful people - inside and out, I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.

Today I got the chance to celebrate by speaking at an Israel Chesed Fair at a local Jewish grade school. The students made bookmarks to send the the orphaned girls living at the Children’s Home in Netanya, Israel which I represent in my work at the Lev LaLev Fund.

May we all only know peace.

Turban Headband Wrap

My new obsession, aside from combining stripes and flowers (as I kept noticing creeping up in my STYLE re-pins on Pinterest - follow The Daily Cover inspiration board: pinterest.com/sheenalevi/the-daily-cover-inspirations/), is using my thin headband scarves to decorate my pony wig.

What is different is that I tie the scarf by twisting it on top of my head to look like a mini turban, which adds a little bit of fashion, flair and texture to the otherwise simple look. I love it so much it has pretty much become my daily uniform. I have so much fun mixing colors and patterns (I wore a red and white polka dot scarf tied this way with the same sweater a week or so later) because I feel so good, cute and trendy when I wear my “hair” this way.

Give it a try! Here is a video of how to tie it on yourself, and please SHARE your looks with me! Looking forward!
